- Purpose of Position: Fabrication of composite (carbon fiber and fiberglass) parts utilizing pre-preg materials through use of machinery, hand and power tools. (Pre-preg is a dry material that is heat activated, no wet resins or toxic fumes are usually associated with composite production)

Water Treatment Operations Intern – The Dalles, OR
DUTIES:
Serves as water treatment intern at municipal water treatment plant, assigned as needed to shift schedules. Under the tutelage of a Certified Water Treatment Operator, will learn chemical and physical laboratory analyses necessary to the operation control of chemical coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, and filtration processes in a Class 4 conventional water treatment plant. will learn chemical/physical analyses for water system compliance, distribution system water quality investigations, and municipal watershed source water monitoring. Assists in the evaluation of alternative water treatment chemicals, processes, procedures, or technologies.
ESSENTIAL TRAINING FUNCTIONS:
- Conduct chemical/physical laboratory analyses necessary to treatment plant operations and water quality compliance.
- Function various types and methods of laboratory instruments used in the Water Quality Laboratories.
- Perform chemical, mathematical, and hydraulic calculations for treatment plant chemical applications, plant flow adjustments, water quality control, and laboratory testing interpretations.
- Provide intermediate-level service and preventive maintenance to treatment plant operations equipment (feeders, pumps, motors, meters, instruments, telemetry, etc.) including adjustments, cleaning, painting, calibrating, etc.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Duties are performed in both inside and outside environments at the Wicks Water Treatment Plant during all four annual seasons. All necessary personal protective equipment will be provided by the city. This position normally works 8- and 12-hour shifts, including holidays and weekends and assigned, but can be flexible.

Minimum requirements:
Age: Applicant must have reached their 18th birthday before they start work in the position.
Training: High school graduate or equivalent.
Ideally, the applicant will possess an aptitude for math/science. While not required, any additional experience in mechanics, plumbing, and/or electrical equipment maintenance the could be related to pumps and other equipment utilized in water treatment operations would be advantageous.
CERTIFICATIONS AND/OR LICENSES:
A valid driver license at time of hire is required
